Transitional Housing and Rapid Re-Housing
The Adopt-A-Family Program is a two-year
program for working homeless families in Tarrant County. Adopt-A-Family’s
goal is to help them become independent and self-sufficient. Families are provided
stable housing and case management while they learn to manage money and reduce

Open Arms is a long-term program serving
victims of domestic violence and their children. Families receive safe housing,
counseling and group therapy as well as assistance with education and employment.
The program’s goal is to help women heal and transition to a healthy life
away from violence and abuse. Click here to learn

The Rapid Re-Housing Program is designed to assist
individuals and families in Fort Worth who are
experiencing homelessness and need temporary
assistance in obtaining short-term housing. Program
Participants must demonstrate their ability to retain
housing through intense Case Management.
Rapid Re-Housing is NOT a shelter program.
Qualifications:
• Resident of Fort Worth.
• Reside in an emergency shelter.
• Unemployed for no more than 12 to 16 months.
• Homeless for the first time.
• Alcohol and/or drug-free for 12 months or 6
months after completing a qualified drug treatment
program.
• Willing to follow a structured program to help you
become self-sufficient?

• Assistance with locating affordable housing.
• Utility allowance (if applicable).
• Budget coaching.
• Intense Case Management.
Food Pantry
The Food Pantry provides grocery assistance
to people living in 17 zip codes in northeast Tarrant County. Last year more
than 30,000 people received assistance from the Pantry. To find out if you qualify

Community Building Programs
The Senior Network and Single-Parent
Family Network were formed to build a network of support for seniors
and single parents facing issues of isolation.
The Senior Network meets each Wednesday
at the CEC Community Room from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm. The weekly program includes
a devotional, games, service projects and social time. To learn more about the

Single parents are invited to attend the monthly program
held the third Thursday of each month at a local church. The evening includes
child care for children ages 2 – 12, social time for single parents, dinner

Education & Employment
Job Club helps participants improve their
job opportunities and earning power. Participants can use the CEC’s Resource
Room to create resumes, search for jobs and learn more about potential careers.
Staff works with each participant to create a personal plan for career growth.

Literacy for Life participants improve
their reading skills and prepare for the GED through customized learning plans
taught by professional instructors. Classes are held twice a week in the CEC

Resale Shop
Second Glance offers great bargains on gently used items including clothing,
furniture, household items, antiques and much more. Donations of gently used
items are accepted some of which are given directly to families in CEC housing
programs. Proceeds from the store benefit the Open Arms Program. For more information
