Tee It Up for a Good Cause
This year Lance Barrow, CBS Sports Executive Producer, is on board to host the CEC's annual golf tournament benefiting CEC programs.

More than 100 golfers are expected for the CEC Golf Classic being held Tuesday, September 15 at Iron Horse Golf Club. Registration and lunch will begin at 11:30am and players tee off at 1:00pm

Golfers will enjoy a round of golf, fajita lunch, fun contests, great prizes and an awards dinner that includes a steak dinner from Outback Steak House. Sponsorships are available and include a variety of benefits including recognition and complimentary players.

Register now through July 31 and you'll receive an early bird discount! A team of four is just $600, individual players are $150 or you can advertise your business with a hole sign and play that day for $400. Call Brandy Schimmel at 817-281-1164 to register your team.

All proceeds of the Golf Classic benefit the CEC's programs for homeless families, victims of violence, seniors and single parents.

Back to School Carnival
Since 1998, the CEC has hosted the Back-to-School Carnival, a fun-filled day for families in the Adopt-A-Family Program. In recent years it has evolved into a family reunion with Adopt-A-Family graduates also attending to update the CEC on their progress since graduation. More than 300 children and their parents typically attend the event.

The Carnival includes a variety of family friendly entertainment including crafts, games and a bounce house. There are also door prize drawings and lunch for all the families. The most heartwarming part of the day is when each child receives a backpack full of school supplies and a new outfit to begin the school year.

There are many ways you can help with this event. Sponsorships are available and include recognition and publicity for your support. Please contact Amy Walker at 817-281-1164 or visit Program Event Sponsorships to learn more.

To “adopt” a child by providing clothing and/or school supplies, please contact Donna Riddick at 817-281-1164. Typically costs are $100 per child to furnish a new school outfit (shirt, pants, underwear, socks, backpack). Donna will provide the name, age and sizes needed for each child you adopt.

Volunteers are needed on Friday to set up for the event and on Saturday to coordinate activities and clean up. Please contact Cindy White to volunteer.
